James Forrest’s great end to the season keeps going strong as the Celtic winger won his 39th cap for Scotland this season.

Forrest wasn’t at his brilliant best in the 2-0 win over Gibraltar, but he still helped the team feel better before the Euro 2024 event in Germany.

Steve Clarke called Forrest up to the provisional squad, and he met up with his fellow countrymen last week. However, he was caught in a funny shot with Kieran Tierney, an Arsenal defender who used to play for Celtic.

Here, Forrest tells the story behind the picture.

Forrest and Tierney, two Celtic heroes, don’t have “airs or graces.”
The great thing about this Scotland team is that it has some real showgirls. Each and every player is humble and down-to-earth. Even those in the English Premier League, which makes a lot of money.

Forrest talks about why he did what he did when he is caught taking his gear to the camp in Scotland in a black plastic bag.

A few people sent that to me and said that the French boys were all dressed to the nines in expensive clothes.

“That was just for my boots; it was easier to carry them that way.”

“We’re not fancy, and I think that’s a trait that both KT and I share because of our backgrounds.”

“Not much has changed for us.”

The picture looked a lot like Tierney showing up to one of his first Arsenal practices with his football boots in a trash bag.

Forrest can now look forward to another game with Scotland. After playing Finland on Friday night, the Celtic player will find out with Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor if Steve Clarke will take him to the Euros in Germany this summer.
