Daizen Maeda unabashedly disclosed that he intended to depart Celtic this summer.
Maeda, the Japan international winger, was prepared to embark on the next chapter of his career when he requested to depart Celtic during the summer transfer window.
Maeda has been a revelation at Parkhead and has contributed to one of the most successful periods in the club’s history since he joined Celtic in 2022.
However, Maeda has since scored for Celtic in their victory over Kilmarnock, and captain Callum McGregor has disclosed his current emotions regarding the Japanese player.
According to Callum McGregor, Celtic can continue to rely on Daizen Maeda.
Although the majority of players would resign if they were compelled to remain at a club they wish to leave, Maeda appears to be an exception at Celtic.
McGregor stated to the Daily Record, “Certainly not.” He is one of those characters who consistently provides their all.
“He is a man on whom you can rely and who will provide you with his undivided attention until the day he decides to depart.”
“To be fair, I believe that everyone anticipated that outcome at some point, given that he travelled from across the globe to participate in this organisation.”
“He has performed exceptionally well for the team and the club, and I am confident that he will continue to do so.”
Daizen Maeda is entirely dedicated to Celtic.
Consequently, is Maeda still entirely dedicated to the club’s aspirations of advancing in Europe and capturing another domestic treble if he has been denied permission to depart Celtic?
Certainly, he is.
McGregor continued, “He is not a prolific speaker.” However, his actions and the manner in which he dedicates himself, such as returning to the game the following day, are indicative of this.
“He is a senior player who is willing to give his all and is someone you can rely on.”
“He is low-maintenance.” To be fair, he simply enjoys playing football. And that is the sole thing that unites us.
“However, I believe that his dedication to the club is demonstrated by his willingness to travel to the other side of the world to play international football, only to return to play a day or two later.”
Will Maeda remain at Celtic until the conclusion of the season? The vast majority of the Hoops supporters will undoubtedly wish so.
Maeda’s fans will undoubtedly be anticipating his return to his peak form as the Europa League campaign approaches, as the European stage is the ideal environment for him to secure a significant transfer.
