Celtic coach delivers new injury news on Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of Europa League clash with Roma

Update on Kelechi Iheanacho’s Return for Celtic

Kelechi Iheanacho is moving closer to making his long-awaited return after spending several weeks out with a hamstring injury.

The striker hasn’t played for Celtic since picking up the injury in their Europa League game against Sturm Graz in October. He recently rejoined full training and was on the bench during the 2–1 loss to Hearts, though he didn’t get on the pitch.

Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy explained that Iheanacho will be brought back into the team carefully.

Nancy told the Daily Record:
“He has trained well. After that, he needs minutes. It’s been two months since he last played. For players who haven’t played regularly, we use physical work to help them regain their rhythm.”

The 29-year-old could be involved in tonight’s Europa League match against AS Roma.

Iheanacho arrived at Celtic Park in the summer on a free transfer.
