22/11/24 Celtic Da Weekly – Christmas Adverts, Rodgers’ Rumours, and Criticism of LarssonGreetings, and a warm welcome to the Celtic Da Weekly. God be praised, the international break has concluded. And what a suitable conclusion it was.

The only team that could manage to win a game and still wind up in a worse position than the team they just defeated is Scotland. Ordinary. However, we are now returning to the critical matter:

the genuine football, which commences at 7:45 p.m. on a Saturday evening. What better way to enjoy your weekend than by navigating the pandemonium of a late-night game? How are we supposed to make it from Vigil Mass to Tynecastle before halftime?

Just another day in the life of a Celtic fan: late evenings, early mornings, and being stranded in the absolute hell that is Edinburgh when the final whistle blows.

Celtic kindly provided us with the annual Christmas advert, one of the highlights of the Timternet calendar, as we sat here, wasting our lives away waiting for kick-off.

(I am aware that it is undoubtedly an annual event; however, it is a Christmas advertisement, and it would be unreasonable for them to repeat it three times a year and once during the Glasgow Fair fortnight.)

However, I am compensated on a per-word basis in this context, so the term “annual” remains in the sentence. Once more, it is an absolute masterpiece. In all honesty, I am having difficulty conceiving of an event that would unite the complete Celtic fanbase in this manner. It is as though they have finally cracked the code:

provide us with a sentimental, tear-jerking Christmas advertisement, incorporate a touch of nostalgia, and voila – unity is achieved. neglect football, neglect the 90 minutes; this year, we are united by yet another exceptional advertisement. It is consumerism with a Celtic twist.

Additionally, who is capable of resisting that? There is no ambiguity regarding the subject matter of our marketing team.
