Celtic F.C captain Callum McGregor break silence make a confession about his injury recovery process after Celtic win vs Dundee
After beating Dundee yesterday afternoon, Celtic captain Callum McGregor said what he thought about his health.
McGregor has been slowly making his way back to the Celtic first team after getting hurt earlier this season and missing four games. This is happening at the same time that Brendan Rodgers welcomed back key first-team players like Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vickers.
When he came back to the bench at Ibrox, McGregor looked like a player who needed more playing time. He got another hour at Dens Park today on top of the hour he got at Hampden against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup, and the Celtic captain sounded good in his talk after the game against Dundee.
‘Happy’ with how Celtic training is going, McGregor
When Sky Sports asked the Celtic captain how he was feeling and if he felt he had to handle his return to the first team after the 2-1 win at Dens Park, he sounded pretty upbeat.
This is what McGregor told Sky Sports: “Yeah, getting there.” Just work hard again this week, and maybe next week you’ll get more minutes.
“We’ll see how things go each week. I’m just going to keep moving, getting stronger, and not having any pain. We’ll see where that gets us.
“That’s why I’m glad to be out there helping the team.”
Coming up are big games against Hearts and Rangers, as well as away games against Kilmarnock and St. Mirren. As the race for the title heats up, Brendan Rodgers will need his captain to be fully fit and ready.
Both Celtic and Rangers won all three points this weekend, even though they played cautiously. It looks like the winner will be the team that blinks first.
Celtic fans will feel better knowing that their team won’t lose points as the season comes to a close now that McGregor is back in the squad.
