Celtic F.C. coach Brendan Rodgers explains why Dane Murray won’t be in any starting Line-Up till the end of the season
The Celtic season is approaching the juncture at which Brendan Rodgers will be required to make judgments regarding the futures of certain players.
The Celtic manager will be eager to incorporate new players into his squad, but he will also be aware that there are several first-team players from the Hoops who will not be involved in his future plans.
It appears that there is an additional reason why one of Rodgers’ Celtic players will not don the green and white Hoops this season, despite the fact that those players will inevitably need to move on.
During his pre-match press conference prior to Celtic’s match against Hibs, Rodgers was questioned regarding the future of youthful Dane Murray and whether he will be given an opportunity in the upcoming weeks.
Brendan Rodgers is in awe of the “strong” Celtic youngster Dane Murray. Murray has only made two appearances for Celtic this season, after he was given a surprise outing in the Bhoys’ defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League and then again in the Scottish Cup victory against Raith Rovers at Celtic Park.
The young defender has not been seen since that time, and Rodgers provides an explanation for why supporters will not have the opportunity to see Murray again this season.
Rodgers informed Celtic TV, “He is not available; he is currently injured.” Yes, it is unfortunate for him that he has recently undergone a minor procedure to clear up his knee.
Rodgers is required to make an additional significant decision regarding Dane Murray at Celtic.
Rodgers evidently holds Murray in high regard and believes that he has a promising future as Celtic’s manager. Nevertheless, there is a contractual matter that necessitates his attention.
Murray’s contract terminates at the conclusion of the upcoming season, which is concurrent with the Celtic manager’s. However, Rodgers must attempt to extend Murray’s contract in order to prevent him from contacting other clubs in January.
Murray is undoubtedly a player that Celtic will wish to retain in the future, given the numerous top-tier youthful talents that the Bhoys have lost in recent seasons.
“Dane is an individual that I hold in high regard.” He possesses a multitude of qualities. He is competitive, muscular, brave, competitive, and possesses a good pace. Additionally, he is a capable player.
