Brendan Rodgers told the media this afternoon that Daizen Maeda will be in the running for the Hearts game next week. He first talked about the player’s position at a Q&A earlier this week.
It was all over Celtic social media on Thursday morning when WhatsApp rumors turned out to be true. It was publicly revealed that Brendan had attended an evening for Celtic investors and during a question-and-answer session, the Irishman said Maeda would be back.
This came after his report a few weeks before, in which he said he thought Daizen had played his last game of the season.
Celtic doesn’t have many top-level wide players, so this is a huge help for them. Daizen had his critics, but Celtic is a better team with the Japanese star on it.
On Sunday, Celtic plays Dundee away and needs all three points to keep moving toward their third title. One mistake at this point could cost them.
Yang or Palma could start against Dundee. Also, James Fortrest could be used on the left, like he was at Hampden.
