Celtic F.C coach Brendan Rodgers reveals how the new Champions League format will benefit Celtic financially and theoretically
This season, Celtic’s win in the Scottish Premiership under Brendan Rodgers was very important for many reasons.
First, it proved once again that the Hornets are the best team in the country, which everyone already knew.
In all seriousness, Celtic winning the title will make them a lot of money because they will automatically qualify for the new Champions League, which gives them two extra games and a lot of performance-based bonuses.
With four home games and four away games, the competition will bring in 21% more money from TV deals. There will also be more benefits when ticket sales and other ad income start coming in.
To sum up, Celtic have created many opportunities for growth both on and off the field. However, Brendan Rodgers is more focused on the former as he wants to build a team that can compete at the highest level.
Why Brendan Rodgers thinks Celtic should play in the Champions League
Celtic’s fans will be looking forward to their third straight trip to the real competition, which will give them another chance to play against the best teams in Europe.
When Rodgers talked about the club’s participation in the new system, he talked about some of the benefits that could be good for them on the inside. He wants to use these experiences to help the Bhoys become a major force on the continent.
He told Celtic FC, “Well, it’s very exciting because there are those extra couple of games at that level, which is great for us in every way, whether it’s for football development or for the money, it’s great for a club like ourselves.”
“When it comes to football, I’m always excited to play against the best teams.”
Celtic needs to make a lot of moves this summer.
Celtic needs to make smart decisions about who to sign before next season if they want to have a chance in the Champions League.
To replace Joe Hart, who is retiring, getting a good goalkeeper has to be a top concern. Koen Casteels, a goalkeeper for Wolfsburg, has been mentioned as a possible replacement for the former England international. He is an example of the type of player the Hoops could try to sign this summer.
There are new teams in the Champions League, and the elite teams are now much wealthier than Celtic and other teams in the league. However, with the right additions, the club can still compete on the European scene.
