Celtic’s win over Manchester City in the second game of their US tour has given fans a lot to look forward to this coming season.

Celtic fans were especially happy with Nicolas Kuhn because the German winger seems to have put behind him a rough start to his time with the Hoops after moving there in January.

When Kyogo Furuhashi scored his first goal of the tour, it was great to see him make that famous run that Ange Postecoglou used to do all the time.

Brendan Rodgers was thrilled with how his team played against Pep Guardiola’s team. He also praised new signing Kasper Schmeichel, saying that the big Dane made some great saves in Chapel Hill.

After Celtic’s 4-3 win, the manager was happy with Schmeichel’s first game and told the fans that they were yet to see his best.

Rodgers told Sky Sports, “He’s really well known by everyone on the team, especially the younger guys.” So, he is that tall and has that personality.

“I brought him here because I know what kind of person he is.” He is really competitive, very brave, and, as I said, I know how humble he is.

“That fits in well with this team and with the way this club works.”

“And I believe we’ve seen two of Kasper Schmeichel’s famous saves tonight.”

“But he will only get better and more used to playing with his teammates. But it was a great 45 minutes for Vil [Sinisalo], who came in and played the second 45.”

Even though Schmeichel is 37 years old, he was very quick and made two great stops in the first half. He also almost stopped Oscar Bobb’s equalizer from going in for Celtic.

Since Chelsea is next, the big Dane is expected to get the start again while he learns how Celtic plays before the first game of the Scottish Premiership season on August 4.

Thanks to Brendan Rodgers’ promise that new players would be coming soon, Celtic fans have a lot to look forward to in the next few weeks.
