Celtic F.C goalkeeper Joe Hart explains his hidden reason why his is retiring despite many petitions for him to spend few more years in the club
As of late, Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has been in great shape. He is loving the end of his professional time with the Bhoys.
Because he’s been so good lately, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton wrote an entire newspaper piece on Saturday morning about how he might get to stay.
The commentator wants Brendan Rodgers to try to get him to commit to one more season, even though he has already said he will retire after the Scottish Cup final.
As a Sky Sports reporter, Sutton was able to ask the goalkeeper at Celtic Park today. The Bhoys hero gave him an honest answer about why now is the right time for him to hang up his gloves.
Hart knew in his heart that he wouldn’t be himself next year when he had to play a lot of tough matches.
Joe Hart on his leaving Celtic
The goalie said, “There was a time in my life when I thought I might be going out, but then I got another chance.” I don’t want to risk that luck. I just want to finish strong. I’d like to finish in this unique spot as a member of this unique club. It seems like it’s time for me to go have fun with someone else.
“It’s not physical at all; I feel fine.” I just felt like now was my time. It made me feel bad that I knew about it but didn’t tell the boss or the guys. That’s what I wanted to say, and I wanted everyone to know why.
I told Stevie Woods after the St. Mirren Cup game, but I couldn’t tell him in person. I started to cry. He thought there was something important going on with his family. I was able to get away with what I was doing. It was clear that he was shocked, but he was very accepting. I like how well you understand this place. It seemed like the right time.
“I’m not at my best right now, but I can always get ready for the games.” In the past, I wanted to be out there arguing with players and having fun. Getting chipped and mad. I just say “well done” when I get chipped now.
“I understand that when I get to games next season, I won’t be quite right.” I did not want to stress Brendan out in any way. I love him because he understood what I wanted to do and helped me do it.
Joe Hart has his big moment.
It is hard to choose the right time to quit. Even the best players don’t always leave in style. Hart has picked his very well. There were some great scenes at Celtic Park today that the goalie will remember for the rest of his life.
It’s better to leave now than to stay longer than you’re invited. It is without a doubt the best thing for him to do if he feels inside that it is time to step down.
He’s been a great Celtic player in more than 150 games, and every fan will remember what he did for the team over the last three years. People in Glasgow now look up to him. Hart has made sure that it will stay that way.
