Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers has been talking about Celtic’s 2-1 win over Dundee in the Scottish Premiership today at Dens Park.
Rangers beat St. Mirren by the same score earlier in the day, leaving the Bhoys three points ahead of them at the top of the table.
On Tayside, James Forrest scored a beautiful double that brought back the best of his Celtic form and secured the win. The first one was a fierce shot, and the second one took a lot of patience to get past the other team’s defense.
He’s playing great right now because of the manager, and it’s great that Celtic can call on his knowledge and skill as they try to win trophies.
Rodgers stated that his team wasn’t playing their best today after the game, but he praised them for being able to get the job done anyway.
Regarding Celtic’s win at Dens Park, Brendan Rodgers
When asked on BBC Radio Scotland if the end of the game was tense, he said, “It was.” At 2-0, we were in charge of the game, but when they score, it gives them a little hope, so you have to show some spirit and protect your box. The ball, corners, and throw-ins into the box were flying all the time, but I was glad to get over the line.
It’s the pitch that matters. It was dry and bumpy, which never makes for a smooth game, and you could tell from the way it was played. Without a question, Dundee has had a great season. Good luck to Tony Docherty and his staff! That being said, they can be dangerous, so you have to get past that.
“We got the three points, which was very important, and the players did a great job of it by the end.”
