Celtic F.C. player Adam Idah shares how he felt after he scored Scottish Cup final goal for Celtic vs Rangers
The 2024–25 Scottish Cup final is coming up soon, and Celtic fans and Adam Idah will remember great times there.
Celtic signed Idah on a six-month loan deal from Norwich City during the January 2024 transfer window.
The 24-year-old quickly made a name for himself by scoring twice at Hibernian, once at Ibrox during a thrilling 3–3 draw, and then the game-winning goal in the Scottish Cup.
This shows that Idah can score big goals, which is why the people in charge at Celtic Park were willing to pay a lot of money to sign him permanently in the summer.
While Celtic is getting ready for their match against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final on May 24, Idah talked about that amazing late goal in the final last year.
Why did Adam Idah think it was “weird” to score the winning goal in the Scottish Cup final for Celtic against Rangers?
Last season, Idah didn’t start that game against Rangers because the now-deceased Kyogo Furuhashi played up top. Just after the hour mark, he was replaced by the player who would score the game-winning goal.
In the 90th minute, Idah made history when he was the first person to respond to Paulo Bernardo’s shot. This made the Celtic Park fans go crazy at Hampden.
What Idah found “weird” about that moment, he told Celtic TV, was that as he applauded, he looked back and saw that “none of the lads were running towards me.”
