Celtic have confirmed the allocation of Rangers away fan tickets and the quantity of Ibrox briefs for Hoops support following the lockout. This morning, Celtic has verified that the next two Glasgow derby matches this season will be attended by away supporters.
In a decision that has resulted in a paucity of atmosphere on derby day, Celtic and Rangers fans have been excluded from recent fixtures between the two clubs. It was the result of safety and security concerns from both parties, and the decision was made to prevent any potential issues by prohibiting all visiting spectators from entering the respective stadiums.
Celtic have now disclosed that they have reached an agreement that will allocate four percent of the saleable capacity at their opponents’ stadiums to both clubs. The club’s statement stated, “We can confirm that away supporters will be present at the next two Glasgow derby matches this season at Celtic Park (March 16) and Ibrox, following the previous SPFL determination from last year and the fulfilment of the necessary requirements.”
“The allocations at both stadiums will be approximately 4% of the saleable capacity.” “More information regarding tickets will be furnished in due course.”Rangers also issued a statement that encouraged their supporters to purchase tickets at Celtic Park as soon as they become available.
Rangers supporters will have the opportunity to attend our match against Celtic on March 16, as the two clubs have reached an agreement to allocate a reciprocal percentage of tickets to visiting fans. The visiting club will be allocated approximately four percent of the saleable capacity at both stadiums.
Rangers is eagerly anticipating the support of our supporters in the East End of Glasgow in just over a fortnight. The arrangement will be repeated for the Old Firm derby at Ibrox following the divide. What is the anticipated number of tickets that Celtic supporters will receive for the Rangers-Celtic match at Ibrox?
This implies that approximately 2400 Rangers supporters will be present at Parkhead for the first derby since the decision was made. Celtic will accommodate approximately 2000 supporters throughout the city when the fixture is played at Ibrox, as the stadium has a smaller capacity. Regrettably, this is the essence of the situation, as Celtic Park is significantly larger than Ibrox.
