Celtic have sparked concern after a worrying signal emerged regarding the relationship between head coach Wilfried Nancy and skipper Callum McGregor

There is a growing sense that Wilfried Nancy’s time at Celtic could be nearing its end. Almost everything that could go wrong has gone wrong for the new head coach, who is now fighting to avoid a fifth straight defeat when Celtic take to the pitch on Sunday.

After the loss to Hearts two weeks ago, many supporters were still backing Nancy, believing he was being treated unfairly by sections of the media. One of the criticisms aimed at him was the sight of Nancy issuing instructions to captain Callum McGregor from the touchline.

However, that dynamic has now been questioned publicly. Speaking on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan raised doubts about whether Nancy truly has the backing of the players — including McGregor — amid the sharp decline in performances and results.

Jordan suggested that such a dramatic drop-off, after seven wins from eight under Martin O’Neill, points to something changing behind the scenes. He questioned whether the captain and the squad remain aligned with the manager, describing the collapse in form as falling “off a cliff.”
