Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers breaks silence and places more support on his formation set-up and strategy even after Borussia Dortmund 7-1 win against Celtic

Even though Celtic lost badly to Borussia Dortmund last night, manager Brendan Rodgers supported his team’s formation, saying that he wouldn’t have changed it if he could go back and see what he had done.

It was another embarassing loss for the Bhoys in Europe. A strong Dortmund team beat them by seven goals on a terrible night.

Emre Can, Karim Adeyemi, Serhou Guirassy, and Felix Nmecha all scored goals against a Hoops team that couldn’t do anything right.

The Bhoys didn’t look up to the job right away. They were second to every ball and had a high defense line that was always open.

Dortmund was happy to beat them in the press as well, and they also ran all over the Bhoys in middle.

Rodgers doesn’t think Celtic should change how they play games like last night’s, but most fans would agree.

In light of what happened at Signal Iduna Park yesterday evening, the Celtic manager was asked if, looking back, he would change his tactics set-up and how he played the game.

He told the BBC, “No, not really.”

“I believe we went into it full of confidence. The team had been playing so well, and we felt really, really good.”

“I believe we should have gotten off to a much better start to the game.” We let easy goals go.

“Structurally, there are things we would have to do better on.”

“At this level, they will punish you for plays and passes that got you in trouble, as you saw tonight.”

Celtic fans are getting used to these very bad losses in Europe.

The club is constantly put down by bigger teams that are too good for them.

It’s still unclear whether the Hoops’ strategy will change for these kinds of games, but it seems like it needs to in order for the Bhoys to have even a small chance of winning.
