Celtic interim head coach Martin O’Neill reveals the key player who will miss the match against Kilmarnock on Sunday

Celtic boss Martin O’Neill has given fans an update on Kelechi Iheanacho’s recovery — and it’s not the news many were hoping for.

The Nigerian striker is still out after picking up a hamstring injury in Europe against Sturm Graz and will miss Sunday’s trip to Kilmarnock.

O’Neill admitted the forward is “still a few weeks away” from returning but hopes the upcoming international break will give him the time he needs to get closer to full fitness.

“He’s not ready yet,” O’Neill said. “We’ll see how things look after the break, but he definitely won’t play this weekend.”
