Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers reveals why he allowed the 23-year-old forward Adam Idah’s start their match win (0-5) against St. Johnstone at Scottish Cup win
Celtic’s Scottish Cup final passage was secured on Sunday thanks to Adam Idah’s much-needed goal.
Celtic defeated St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden by scoring five goals, a fortnight after their defeat in Perth. Simo Valakari’s team was defeated.
Last week, Celtic defeated Kilmarnock in the Premiership, thereby edging closer to the title. However, despite scoring five goals in that match, Idah failed to register a goal before being substituted after the hour mark.
However, a video of Idah on a night out over the weekend began to circulate on social media, and there were rumours that he was ill in a taxi.
Brendan Rodgers found it necessary to address the matter prior to Celtic’s victory over St. Johnstone, despite the fact that it was merely a typical evening out for a young man of his age.
The reason why Adam Idah was the catalyst for Celtic’s victory over St. Johnstone in the Scottish Cup semi-final
Surprise, surprise. The Idah stories that circulated on social media in the lead-up to the Scottish Cup semi-final were more a matter of commotion than reality.
Rodgers, in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland, refuted the assertion that the Republic of Ireland international was “sick in a taxi.”
The Celtic manager declared that he was “prepared to commence” the St. Johnstone match and “perform,” which he did. He also mentioned that “people add salt and pepper to these things.”
Rodgers stated, “There are always stories floating around, but by nature, you evaluate them, incorporate them, and proceed accordingly.”
“Adam has been an exceptional professional during his time with me.” He was not genuinely ill in the taxi, as I read the stories about being sick in the taxi.
“However, it is a much greater issue than it was in reality when people add salt and pepper to all of these things.”
“He has performed exceptionally well this week.” I have got no issues with anything like that. I have encountered instances in the past where players have eliminated teams, but this has never been the case. He is prepared to commence and execute his duties.
