Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston responded to Cameron Carter-Vickers’ moment of lunacy in a humorous manner during the Hoops’ competitive 1-1 draw with Club Brugge last night.

A calamitous error from the typically reliable Carter-Vickers resulted in the Bhoys falling behind 26 minutes in.
When he returned the ball to custodian Kasper Schmeichel, he failed to glance up, resulting in the ball slipping into the Celtic net, granting the visitors a somewhat deserved lead. Carter-Vickers and the Bhoys were fortunate to recover and regain control of the contest in the second half.
On the hour mark, Daizen Maeda struck a powerful shot that his former teammate Joe Hart adored, thereby restoring parity. In the final 30 minutes, neither team was able to secure a victory, and both were content with a point each.
Immediately following the match, Hoops rejoined the game. Johnston addressed the media. Unsurprisingly, he was questioned regarding Carter-Vickers’ first-half switch-off.
He humorously reacted to the situation and made light of it, stating, “When you want to play out from the back under high pressure, sometimes things are going to get a little lost in translation” to the BBC.
“He (Carter-Vickers) believed that Kasper was located in a single location; however, this was not the case.”
The conclusion was fantastic! “I believe he was unharmed for the remainder of the match.” He was one of those individuals about whom you did not need to be concerned about such matters.
Carter-Vickers recovered from his error and maintained his composure for the duration of the match. He was unsuccessful in the initial phases, as were the majority of his teammates, and was unable to establish a rhythm.
That culminated in the error; however, the Celts demonstrated remarkable resilience and rallied to secure what could prove to be a critical point at the conclusion of the league phase.
