Celtic suffer setback as Martin O’Neill rules out two stars for Midtjylland clash

Martin O’Neill has confirmed Celtic will travel to Denmark without Alistair Johnston and Kelechi Iheanacho for their Europa League clash with Midtjylland. Johnston hasn’t fully recovered from a knock picked up against Sturm Graz, while Iheanacho continues to struggle with a hamstring problem.

Speaking ahead of the match, O’Neill said both players are “not fit,” ruling them out of Thursday night’s tie. With Cameron Carter-Vickers already missing, Celtic have called up young striker Callum Osmand to the European squad.

In their absence, Johnny Kenny could once again lead the line after netting three goals in his last two outings. The Hoops will kick off at 17:45 GMT looking to maintain their strong form following the League Cup semi-final win over Rangers.
