Sead Haksabanovic, a failed Celtic player, has revealed the mysterious Instagram post that ended his time with the club.

During his first season at Parkhead, the winger showed signs of promise. He joined the team in the summer of 2022.

It’s just that Haksabanovic wasn’t very good and never really got going.

Some people thought he would improve under Brendan Rodgers, but the Irish manager never liked the player. At the start of last season, when he wasn’t getting enough playing time, he had an unexpected outburst on social media.

After his Instagram mess, which he recently talked about, the Montenegrin was quickly sent out on loan to Stoke City.

“I don’t think I feel bad about the Instagram post,” he told Football Scotland.

“It didn’t mean anything to the fans or anything.”

I don’t want to get into specifics because it’s between me and the club, but I felt like I wasn’t treated the same as the others. I need to take care of myself and make sure I’m okay because I know why the people were mad at me.

“They always want what’s best for the club, and I did the same thing when I played for Celtic.”

Someone could do bad things to me, and I need to protect myself because of that. If I don’t like it, feel valued, or respect it, I will… It wasn’t supposed to get so bad that I had to post it, but it did. I had to take care of myself.

Haksbanovic has said in the past that the board of Celtic wanted to keep him at the club. Taking a shot at Rodgers, he said that his firing was mostly because of the boss.

It looks like the manager made the right call about Haksabanovic, though.

There’s a reason why the 25-year-old didn’t do well at Stoke in England’s second division and is now with Malmo, a team so bad they beat Rangers last week.

Even though there were early signs of promise, Haksabanovic’s time with Celtic never worked out. In the end, he sold himself with a careless outburst.
