Football Insider has been informed by sources that Celtic will attempt to re-sign Brondby’s Mathias Kvistgaarden during the summer transfer window.

In a surprising move last week, Kyogo Furuhashi was transferred to Stade Rennais; however, he was not replaced prior to the 3 February deadline.Brondby’s late-window drama prevented the Hoops from bringing Kvistgaarden to Parkhead, despite the fact that they considered potential moves for their top targets.

The club’s decision not to replace Furuhashi has been met with criticism from Celtic fans; however, it is believed that the club did not wish to overspend and despair.Rather, they will rely on Adam Idah to guide the line for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, while the inclusion of Jota will result in the addition of additional goals to the front line.

According to sources, the Glasgow titans will have a “significant summer” as they strive to advance to the next level following their success in the Champions League this season. After being priced out of the deal, Celtic will attempt to secure Kvistgaarden once more. If they are to replicate their success from this season, they will need to navigate the qualifying stages of the upcoming season’s competition.

Brendan Rodgers and his transfer chiefs had designated Kvistgaarden as the top candidate to replace Furuhashi; however, Celtic were unwilling to match his valuation during the mid-season window. In 22 appearances across all competitions this season, he has scored 14 goals and provided five assists for Brondby.

The contract of the Denmark Under-21 international is valid until June 2027. In other news, an expert has suggested that Celtic’s Kyogo sale is the result of a larger issue.
