Chief football writer Mark Guidi reveals the names of the three (3) top players Celtic FC must sell quickly before transfer deadline

After the £30m transfer fee appears to have scared the Russell Martin away, Southampton appears to be out of the contest to sign O’Riley.

Brendan Rodgers anticipates that O’Riley will remain a member of his Celtic squad until the transfer window closes. However, Mark Guidi has disclosed that the Hoops manager is seeking to dispose of three players prior to the deadline.

Celtic is seeking to remove Maik Nawrocki and two other players.

Since last summer, Celtic has encountered difficulties with its central defensive position. Rodgers’ inadequacy in depth in that sector of the field was demonstrated by Cameron Carter-Vickers’ injury last season.

Maik Nawrocki was Celtic’s most expensive acquisition last summer; however, he has only appeared in 13 matches for the club. It appears that Celtic intends to dispose of him and two other players prior to the conclusion of the summer window.

Guidi stated on The Go Radio Football Show, “What you must remember about Anthony Ralston is that, while I am not suggesting that he is content, he is aware of his responsibilities at the club.” He serves as Alistair Johnson’s backup.

“You must also bear in mind that he is Scottish and a homegrown player, which means that he meets the criteria for your European squad.” Therefore, it is imperative that you consider this. He is a competent professional who does not cause any issues.

“Therefore, it is not a priority to return immediately.” A left back and a left center half are required on the opposite side of the pitch. However, Celtic are also endeavoring to eliminate three center halves from the squad.

“Kobayashi, Lagerbielke, and likely Nawrocki.” Therefore, it is challenging; they must remove corpses and then observe the developments in the other positions.

Gustaf Lagerbielke appears to be on his way out on loan after discussing a provisional transfer to Heerenveen this summer as a Celtic defender.

Kobayashi and Nawrocki currently have four years remaining on their contracts; however, there has been no indication of interest in either player for an extended period.

It is uncertain whether Celtic will be able to eliminate all three from their roster; however, if they do, Rodgers will require additional personnel since they will be lacking in reserve coverage.
