Birmingham City face Millwall test amid Patrick Roberts injury concern
Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has provided an update on Patrick Roberts’ fitness after the winger was substituted during the 4-0 victory over Portsmouth.
Roberts, who was instrumental in the Blues’ strong start to the match, was replaced by Keshi Anderson at half-time after sustaining a knock. It comes just weeks after the 28-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Preston fixture and was also taken off early during the defeat to Bristol City.
Speaking after the game, Davies moved to calm fears of a serious issue:
“He just had a knock. I don’t think it’s anything serious — it was more precautionary. I spoke to him at half-time and again at the end, and I don’t think it’s anything major, but we’ll see tomorrow.”
The Blues boss hasn’t ruled Roberts out of Tuesday night’s clash with Millwall at St Andrew’s, adding:
“I haven’t had that conversation yet, but tomorrow will probably be more decisive.”
Meanwhile, Willum Willumsson will miss next week’s fixture, while Jack Robinson returns from suspension.
