After Pep Guardiola goes, Manchester City will have two main problems, which Ale Moreno has talked about.
Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail claimed on Sunday that the people in charge at Manchester City are worried that Pep Guardiola will leave when his contract ends in 2025. The story said Guardiola has not officially told City that he wants to leave at the end of the season.
But it was said that Guardiola might be leaving the club next year after “insiders at the club” and “sources within the industry” have talked publicly about it in the past few months.
Ale Moreno talks about the problems Man City will have without Guardiola.
The story also said that sources think the Catalan’s last season at the Etihad Stadium will be the 2024–2025 season.
Pep Guardiola announced last Sunday that he will stay as manager of Manchester City for the next season.
He also promised City fans at the parade that they would win the FA Cup next season. He has won the Premier League six times.
Ale Moreno thinks that Manchester City will have two main issues when Pep Guardiola leaves the club. The first is finding a boss who is willing to take over from Guardiola.
“Certainly, the big question would be, who’s willing to take this job on?” Moreno told ESPN FC. Now, that’s a really talented team. A skilled group, but man, if Jurgen Klopp left a hole at Liverpool, you can only guess how big of a hole Pep Guardiola is leaving at Manchester City.
“As a manager, you want to work with great people, and this is it.” I’m not sure if you want to follow Pep Guardiola.
Ale Moreno also thinks that Pep Guardiola will make Manchester City less appealing than they have been in the past.
“Stevie [Nicol], another way to look at it is that players from all over the world want to play for Manchester City because they want to play for Pep Guardiola.”
“When that’s taken out of the equation, now it’s a whole different dynamic,” Moreno said. It’s not just about the players who are there; it’s also about the players who are coming or not coming.
“So, when you’re trying to make a team stronger, it’s much easier to say that Pep Guardiola is your manager than to say that the next guy is your manager, who might be great or might not be.”
“When I talk about the impact of a guy like Pep Guardiola’s absence, it’s not just what he does every day; it’s what he lets you do as a club because of the brand that he represents,” the expert said.
These problems will happen at Man City for sure when Guardiola goes.
We can’t argue with Ale Moreno because these are the two problems Manchester City will have to deal with after Pep Guardiola leaves the club.
How many managers are willing to take on the £378,846-a-week job? It doesn’t matter if it’s after next season or a few years from now.
If the manager in question doesn’t do a great job, the idea that they might fail as Guardiola’s replacement at City will be hard for them to get away from.
The same way that David Moyes was seen as a failed Manchester United manager who took over for Sir Alex Ferguson.
Pep Guardiola is available to Manchester City, which gives them an edge over other teams when it comes to signing players, as Ale Moreno said.
Without Guardiola, City will still be one of the biggest clubs in the world, but it won’t be as easy for them to sign top stars as it seems to be now.
When Pep Guardiola leaves, Manchester City’s leaders will be put to the test more than at any other time in years.
