Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly accepted an offer from Al-Nassr, with the star set to receive £168 million following his proposal for a reunion.
According to reports, former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has “accepted an offer” to extend his contract with the Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo departed from Manchester United at the conclusion of 2022, as his contract was mutually terminated following a conflict with head coach Erik ten Hag.The 39-year-old athlete netted 18 goals in 30 Premier League matches during the 2021/22 season while
representing Manchester United; however, he subsequently fell in the hierarchy of player selection following the appointment of Ten Hag, who favoured fresher alternatives. This did not set well with Ronaldo, who spat his dummy out and burnt bridges en route to leaving the Premier League giants.
Ronaldo expressed dissatisfaction following Manchester United’s failure to secure qualification for the Champions League; however, he declined offers from European clubs in favour of joining Al-Nassr, a team in the Saudi Pro League.Ronaldo has achieved a total of 75 goals and 18 assists in 84 appearances for Al-Nassr, who presently occupy the third position in the Saudi Pro League.
The former Manchester United star has been associated with a potential departure in recent weeks, as his existing contract is set to conclude at the conclusion of the current season.
Earlier this month, a report indicated that Ronaldo has “proffered his services” to Chelsea as he seeks a return to Europe. Additionally, it has been reported that he has “requested a reunion” with Manchester United star Casemiro in order to extend his tenure at Al-Nassr beyond this summer.
Bruno Fernandes, a prominent player for Manchester United, has articulated his belief that Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to represent Portugal even after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup. “I not only hold a belief, but I am nearly certain that he will be present at the 2026 World Cup,” stated Fernandes.
“It would be a remarkable achievement if Cristiano Ronaldo were to realise his aspiration of winning the World Cup with the national team, not solely for his own benefit, but also for the pride of the Portuguese people.” We are genuinely committed to contributing that to our nation.
