After not being able to play in Al Nassr’s 2-1 King’s Cup win over Al Hazem, Cristiano Ronaldo sent a message of support to his friends.
For their game against Al Hazem, Stefano Pioli chose to rest the 39-year-old. It was his second game as boss of the Saudi Pro League club.
Sadio Mane, who used to play for Liverpool, scored two goals and Saudi left back Nawaf Al-Boushail scored the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute.
The famous Portuguese striker keeps setting new marks. He recently became the first man to score over 900 goals in a competitive game and football’s all-time top scorer.
Still, we all get old, and Pioli thought it would be best to rest his star player since they had an AFC Champions League game coming up against Al-Rayyan.
Cristiano Ronaldo shows his backing for his teammates at Al Nassr
So far this season, Ronaldo has been in normal great shape. He has scored seven goals for both his club and his country in eight games across all competitions.
To date, he has only won one trophy with Al Nassr. He is still as eager as ever to win more, cheering on his friends from Instagram.
It was surprisingly quiet in Saudi Arabia during the summer transfer window. The biggest deal was Moussa Diaby’s £50 million move from Aston Villa to Al Ittihad.
Al Nassr is currently in fifth place in the Saudi Pro League, but they only have eight points after four games. They are still perfect, though, along with league leaders Al Hilal.
