Cristiano Ronaldo sends out a strong message to Turkey defender Merih Demiral after their match against Austria in the Euro 2024
Merih Demiral, a defender for Turkey, said that Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo praised him after scoring two goals against Austria.
Two goals were scored by Demiral against Austria in the current Euro 2024 on July 2.
They played 25 games together at Juventus from 2019 to 2021, when they were both at Juventus.
The defender helped his country make it to the semifinals of the tournament, where they will play Ronaldo’s Portugal.
He got two goals as Turkey beat Austria 2-1.
For the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Demiral said after the game, “Ronaldo called me and congratulated me on the win and the goals.”
“Being European champion is my dream, and getting the win over Austria makes that dream more likely to come true.”
