‘Deal at the time” – Former Celtic F.C midfielder Roy Keane reveals the club he rejected to sign for Celtic F.C during his career

At the time, Roy Keane, who used to play center for Celtic, was one of the most famous football players in the world.

Keane is a star at Manchester United and for the Republic of Ireland. In December 2005, he joined Gordon Strachan’s Celtic and played 11 times for the team that inspired him as a child.

The short time Keane played for the club earned him a Scottish Premiership title and a League Cup before he quit on June 12, 2006.

But the end of Keane’s career could have been very different if he had switched clubs at that time. It looks like not even Gary Neville, who used to play with him at Manchester United, knew this.

Roy Keane turned down Real Madrid to play for Celtic.
It’s hard to believe, but Roy Keane said he turned down a move to the big clubs in La Liga in favor of going to Paradise.

One of Keane’s former Manchester United teammates was shocked when he told them that Keane turned down a move to Real Madrid to sign for Celtic.

Roy Keane: “You know, I’ve always liked Juventus.” They also gave me a deal, but I remember thinking it wasn’t great at the time.

“I wanted to find a great deal.” And Bayern Munich was the club that gave me the best deal ever.

“After I left United, I went to Celtic, but for a year and a half, I could have gone to Real Madrid.”

“They gave me a year and a half.” I thought it was okay that Celtic was moving around a lot. I’m okay with making those kinds of choices.

“I only thought, ‘Would I go to Madrid and make a difference?'”

Gary Neville said, “I didn’t know you turned down Real Madrid.” He looked and sounded shocked.

“I know,” said Keane.

Clyde shocked Celtic with a 2-1 win in the Scottish Cup in January 2006, which wasn’t the best start for the famous Irishman’s Celtic career.

When Keane played for the green and white hoops, his best game was when he led Celtic to a 1-0 win over Rangers on the road at Ibrox.

The player who used to play for Manchester United also scored a goal for Celtic, setting up the first goal in a 2-1 win over Falkirk at Celtic Park.

He is now retired and enjoys his job as a commentator. But when he talks about Celtic, he always gets very emotional because he loves his time as a bride in Glasgow.
