British media said that Liverpool and Feyenoord agreed on Friday that Arne Slot would take over as manager after Jurgen Klopp.

The 45-year-old man had two years left on his contract, and the Press Association said that he has now been given a payment plan.

From what the BBC said, the deal is worth up to £9.4 million, which is about €10.9 million.

Slot said on Thursday that he was “confident” he would get the job at Anfield.

“I’d like to visit Liverpool.” It’s now up to me to see if the clubs can come to an understanding. He told reporters, “I’m very sure of that.”

Slot went to Feyenoord in 2021 after doing a great job as a manager at AZ Alkmaar.

At the end of his first season, he took the Dutch giants to the first Europa Conference League final, where they lost to Jose Mourinho’s Roma by a score of 1-0.

After that, Slot helped De Kuip win their second league title in 24 years, and he signed a new three-year deal.

After nine years in charge, Klopp won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League the next year. He will step down at the end of this season.

“I like the way his football team plays.” Klopp told reporters on Friday, “If he is the one, I like that he wants it,” when asked to describe Slot’s strengths.

“I don’t know him, but people who do say he’s a good person.” That’s great. Good teacher, good person. I’m excited about the club, and if he’s the answer or the man, I’ll be very happy.

If you look at the Eredivisie table right now, Feyenoord is in second place, nine points behind PSV Eindhoven.

Slot would be disappointed if they didn’t win the Dutch title, just like Klopp is frustrated that Liverpool’s title bid is falling apart.

Arsenal is in first place in the Premier League, three points ahead of Liverpool. Second-placed Manchester City is also two points ahead of Liverpool.

City has a game in hand over both Arsenal and Liverpool. Liverpool, who lost to Crystal Palace and Everton, looks like they blew their chance.
