Denmark national team coach Kasper Hjulmand reveals reason why he didn’t pick Celtic F.C 23-year-old talented midfielder his squad for the Euro 2024
Kasper Hjulmand has communicated with the media in Denmark following the selection of his 26-man squad for the next Euro 2024 competition, which will take place in Germany.
Matt O’Riley, a star player for Celtic, has been kept out of the lineup despite previous call-ups to the national squad, which has surprised onlookers in Denmark and Scotland.
O’Riley was responsible for a staggering 37 goals for Celtic, which included 19 goals of his own and 18 goals that he assisted on. This was a double-winning season for Celtic. From the middle of the field, it is a fantastic return.
In spite of this, Hjulmand has made the decision to pursue alternative courses of action. The younger player, who is 23 years old, has been left dissatisfied and is now watching from the sidelines.
Earlier this afternoon, the manager of the Danish national team held a news conference, during which he emphasized that the Bhoys’ potential could not have done more this season to be selected.
Kasper Hjulmand on the removal of Matt O’Riley from the Denmark team
Matt has been a really good player, and he has had a wonderful season, according to Hjulmand, who said it in bold. I’ve chosen six players who should be able to be moved around a little bit. Matt has suffered as a result of this decision, but it was a difficult one to make.
“I am aware that he is likely to participate in a significant number of international games. There was nothing he could have done differently.”
Hjulmand said, “I don’t want to say the most difficult choices, because I think there have been some difficult choices.” This was in response to a question that was asking him about the choices that were the most challenging for him to make. There are more than three people who are deserving of playing, therefore I can’t just tell you that there are three. One of them is Matt O’Riley.
O’Riley will be more impassioned than she has ever been.
Due to the fact that the midfielder is familiar with O’Riley’s playing style, he will apply this knowledge as a source of motivation over the upcoming year and beyond. It is very evident that he has the goal of achieving success on an international level.
His game will be taken to new heights in order to convince others that he is worthy of competing in major events. He is a self-critical individual who will be striving to improve his performance.
There is no way to know whether or not his game will continue to improve while he is playing for Celtic. The Bhoys are rumored to be receiving significant offers this summer, according to widespread speculation.
All of us are keeping our fingers crossed that Brendan Rodgers will be able to keep him in Glasgow for at least one more season as the team strives to make progress both domestically and internationally.
