When he found out he’ll be out “for a long time” with a shoulder injury, Detroit Lions defender Terrion Arnold posted an emotional message on Instagram that perfectly shows how he felt at the time.
“There Is No Mistake” 🙏
As soon as Dan Campbell revealed how bad Arnold’s injury was, the second-year cornerback posted a picture of himself praying while wearing his Lions uniform and wrote:
A player who has shown strength since coming to Detroit as a first-round pick in 2024 made a short but powerful message.
A Season Was Derailed, But the Spirit Was Unbroken
Arnold got hurt just one week after the Lions put D.J. Reed on injured reserve, which meant that the team didn’t have either of its starting outside corners. On Monday, Campbell said:
“He’ll be gone for a while.” He’ll be out for a long time.
When asked if it might mean the end of the season, Campbell said he wasn’t sure yet, but he did say that Arnold won’t get better quickly.
The young defensive back is having a tough time because he just had one of his best games of the year against Cincinnati. Campbell said these nice things about Arnold’s poise and growth:
“He was very into it.” He seemed calm to me. I liked him, and this game was one of the best ones he’s played recently. I believed he was very good.
Keeping the faith and fighting on
Arnold’s post shows that he is wise beyond his years and that his faith has been a part of his life since college. Even though things are hard, he is choosing to be thankful and keep things in perspective.
The Lions are getting ready for the next few weeks without two key players in the secondary. Arnold’s leadership and faith are still being felt throughout the locker room.
