The accident, which occurred in the Spanish province of Zamora, also claimed the life of the Portugal forward’s sibling, Andre Silva. Additionally, the 26-year-old was a professional footballer who played for Penafiel, a Portuguese second-tier club. Jota and his brother passed away at approximately 00:30 local time on Thursday, according to the Guardia Civil, as reported by BBC Sport.

 

 

They stated that their Lamborghini, which was overtaking another vehicle, veered off the road as a result of a tyre blowout and subsequently caught fire. Last month, Jota married his long-term companion, Rute Cardoso, with whom he has three children.

 

 

 

He recently shared images of the ceremony, which occurred on June 22, on social media. Jota was instrumental in Liverpool’s achievement of the Premier League championship last season and also represented Portugal in the Nations League final against Spain in June.
