Done deal: FC Barcelona officially move to sign the 26-year-old attacking midfielder for €55 million – ‘Here we go’

Nico Williams has almost certainly decided to stay at Athletic Club for next season. Now, everyone in Catalonia is looking at his fellow countryman Dani Olmo.

The Blaugrana have been really interested in the RB Leipzig star since he blew everyone away at Euro 2024, and talks with the German club have sped up in recent days.

It was said earlier this week that Olmo’s team would go to Germany to finalize and talk about their client’s move to Barcelona.

Deco, the sporting director of Barcelona, also went to Germany to hold a meeting. Fabrizio Romano says that the deal is almost complete and that talks are moving quickly in the right way.

In fact, the Italian reporter has given his usual “here we go” sign for the deal.

The administrator met with the player, his father, and his agents earlier today to talk about the terms of the offer. He is now in talks with the Leipzig hierarchy to finalize a deal.

As of now, the finalized deal is said to include set terms for €55 million and add-ons worth an extra €7 million, though they will be hard to reach.

So, Olmo will be the club’s second summer deal. He will sign for six years, ending in 2030. A deal has been made verbally, and an official statement should come soon.

Olmo is about to return to the club of his dreams, more than ten years after leaving it. This new player might have an effect on the future of Ilkay Gundogan or another playmaker, but we still don’t know what for.
