A former Wolverine is returning to the state of Michigan, as reports indicate that Ronnie Bell has officially signed with the Detroit Lions. Bell was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, with the 253rd overall pick, and has since spent the past two seasons in the western region of the United States. In his tenure with the Niners, spanning 26 games, Bell recorded a total of 90 yards and three touchdowns from eight receptions.

Bell played an essential role in the Michigan offence throughout the 2022 season, leading the Wolverines with a total of 62 receptions and 889 receiving yards. He was elected as the team captain for a duration of two years (2021-2022) and was subsequently honoured with the title of Offensive Skill Player of the Year in 2022.
