Lloyd Kelly has agreed to a five-year contract with St. James’ Park, which is part of the transfer process for Newcastle United.
In addition to signing a five-year contract with Newcastle United, Lloyd Kelly has successfully completed his medical examination.

Following the expiration of his contract with AFC Bournemouth, the defender, who is 25 years old, has signed with Newcastle as a free agent position. Wednesday was the day that he went to London for his medical examination, and then he signed a contract that will last until June 2029.

The transaction has been “completed in its entirety,” according to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

It is currently planned that the player will travel to Tyneside in order to make an official declaration.

While playing at Bournemouth, Kelly made 141 games over the course of five years. He is capable of playing both left-back and center-back positions. Additionally, he has a preexisting relationship with Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, to whom he was transferred from Bristol City to Bournemouth in 2019 for a fee of thirteen million pounds.

Ever when he was playing for Bournemouth in the Championship, the defender has been and will continue to be a long-term priority for Newcastle. In addition, Howe holds him in high regard as a player because he has worked alongside him.

The following is an excerpt from an interview that Howe gave to the Daily Echo in the year 2020: “I think one of the great things about Lloyd when I first met him – I was blown away by how mature he was.”

“What a tremendous amount of mental capacity he possessed to want to progress and learn, and to become the very greatest player that he is capable of being. However, he was very, very good mentally in any case.

“He is definitely someone who I believe has the potential to develop leadership skills as he progresses through his career,” this person said.

After leading Bournemouth back to the Premier League, Kelly eventually became the club’s captain and guided the team to victory. As a result of the release of Paul Dummett and the long-term anterior cruciate ligament injuries sustained by Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles, he will now contribute to strengthening Newcastle’s defense.
