€60 million A Barcelona athlete may depart the club during the summer of 2025, according to a report. FC Barcelona is scheduled to resume their participation in club football this weekend following
the international break, when they face off against Sevilla in a critical La Liga match. They have a Champions League match against Bayern Munich and a league match against Real Madrid following this weekend’s contest.Hansi Flick will be acutely aware that the excellent work he has accomplished as the coach of the Catalan club thus far will be rendered meaningless if they are unable to achieve success in two of the most significant games of their season thus far. The German coach is fortunate in that several of his most prominent players are expected to recover from injury following the international break. Frenkie de Jong recently returned to the field shortly before the break and is currently in the process of regaining his complete fitness. He is eager to begin the match against Bayern Munich. We recently published a story that revealed Barcelona’s lack of optimism regarding Frenkie de Jong’s contract renewal. The Dutch midfielder’s contract is set to expire in 2026, and he has yet to execute a new agreement. Currently, according to Fichajes, Barcelona may pursue the sale of Frenkie de Jong in the summer of 2025 if he fails to sign a new contract. The Spanish club is eager to prevent the possibility of him departing for free a season later. Manchester United remains the leading contender for the 27-year-old’s signature in the event that Barcelona makes him available in the transfer market. Frenkie de Jong has been a long-standing favorite of the Red Devils, and they may eventually achieve their aspiration of signing him. There is no question that Frenkie is the type of profile that would flourish in Hansi Flick’s system on paper. He will undoubtedly have the opportunity to demonstrate the value he can bring to this team in the weeks ahead once he has returned to full health. In an ideal world, Barcelona would be delighted for Frenkie to extend his contract and remain with the club. Nevertheless, the situation is currently unclear, and the outcome of this particular saga will only be determined by time. We will wait to determine whether the club can negotiate an extended stay with the €60m-rated player.
