Eddie Howe has confirmed that Newcastle United’s crucial player has been ruled out for a period of two months due to an injury.

Eddie Howe has verified that Emil Krafth will be sidelined for approximately two months due to a fractured clavicle.

Krafth was compelled to withdraw from international duty with Sweden due to the injury, which also resulted in his absence from the team’s victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground prior to the international break.

Krafth, who is frequently employed as a utility player, is a critical member of Howe’s squad and played a significant role in the early phases of the season when Fabian Schar was suspended following his red card against Southampton.

Krafts is a significant setback, as Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are still recuperating from their respective ACL injuries. Howe has affirmed that Krafth will be absent for the entirety of the holiday season.

“Emil Krafth underwent an operation,” Howe stated. “We expect him to be sidelined for approximately six to eight weeks on the season’s opening day.”

Krafts coincides with the announcement that Dan Burn will also be unable to participate in Monday’s match due to a suspension. Burn received his fifth yellow card of the season at the City Ground and will be compelled to observe his team from the stands at St James’ Park.

With the potential for Kieran Trippier to return to the squad for the first time since early-October, Lloyd Kelly appears to be the logical replacement for Burn on Monday night.

Trippier sustained a hamstring injury during their goalless draw at Goodison Park and has been unable to participate in the team’s most recent five matches across all competitions.

Trippier’s return to the squad this weekend would be a significant advantage for the Magpies, in addition to Callum Wilson’s potential return. Howe is optimistic that Trippier will be available to him: “Trippier is slightly closer than Callum.” According to Howe.

“He trained on Thursday, performed well, and reported that he felt well.” He did not experience any adverse effects and appeared in excellent condition; however, it was his initial day of training. We are in the same situation as Wilson.

Newcastle United’s fourth consecutive victory on Monday night could result in the Magpies finishing the night in third place, provided that other results align this weekend.
