Eddie Howe was astounded by Newcastle United’s main player during Chelsea’s victory. Eddie Howe
lavished praise on Joelinton after his team’s Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea at St. James’ Park. The Brazilian was initially deployed in central midfield against Chelsea on Sunday; however, he was transferred to the left wing on Wednesday night as a result of Howe’s decision to make five changes to the team that had begun at Stamford Bridge. Joe Willock was a member of Howe’s starting XI and was positioned on the left side of a midfield three, alongside Sandro Tonali and Sean Longtsaff.Newcastle United would secure Champions League qualification during the 2022/23 season, which Willock and Joelinton enjoyed a highly successful partnership. However, injuries prevented them from capitalizing on this opportunity in the previous season. Nevertheless, the victory over Chelsea served as a reminder of the performance that the duo can produce when they are on the field together, and Howe was quick to express his gratitude to the Brazilian after the victory. “I must express my gratitude to Joelinton for his exceptional performance today.” According to Howe. “He is an invaluable asset to our team, as he is capable of playing as a wingback, wide left, or wide right. His performance was nothing short of brilliant.”
Joelinton’s performance on the flank is causing Howe an immense amount of anxiety, as he is preparing for upcoming matches against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. Currently, the Magpies have Joelinton, Anthony Gordon, and Harvey Barnes as options on that side of the pitch, and Howe acknowledged that he was spoiled for choice.”I find it challenging to select a position on that side due to the abundance of resources, including Anthony, Harvey, Joe, and Joelinton.” Joelinton and Willock effectively integrate that position when they collaborate. I am uncertain of the ultimate resolution to this matter, except to say that we have a number of exceptional athletes who are vying for positions.
