Furious Elena Sadiku, Celtic’s manager, was prohibited from conducting a post-match interview with television cameras subsequent to her dismissal from the Rangers game.

The Swede was initially shown yellow for her furious reaction to the decision to award their title rivals a penalty for a foul by Shannon McGregor, as she went tonto on the touchline.

In a contest that the Rangers ultimately won 3-2, Katie Wilkinson scored a goal from 12 yards out, giving them a 2-1 lead. Sadiku was observed cynically applauding in the direction of the match official after the yellow card was displayed. Sadiku was visibly enraged as she ascended the stairs to take her seat in the stand, as her gesture secured her a second appointment.

The penalty award and Sadiku’s response were the primary topics of discussion on Sky Sports following the match. However, host Eilidh Barbour disclosed that her adversary, Rangers’ CEO Jo Potter, would not be participating in the interview.

The television reporter stated: “We were hoping to speak with Celtic boss Elena Sadiku but unfortunately the officials won’t let her out to speak with us because she was sent off.” According to regulations, managers are required to vacate the technical area and the field of play after they have been issued a red card.

This is likely the reason why the officiating team did not allow Sadiku to return, as the Sky Sports crew was stationed at pitchside.
