Gareth Southgate gave a report on Kieran Trippier, who seemed to get hurt slightly against Serbia.
Gareth Southgate said that Kieran Trippier had cramps in the last few minutes of England’s win over Serbia. Luke Shaw wasn’t playing, so Trippier filled in at left back and played all 90 minutes at the Veltins-Arena as Jude Bellingham scored the only goal that gave the Three Lions the win.
Southgate counts Trippier as one of his most experienced players, and he is an important part of England’s plans. With Shaw still out, he could play left back again when England play Denmark on Thursday.
Following the game, Southgate stated that Trippier and the rest of the team that played on Sunday were all fine: “Kieran Trippier just had a cramp.” Southagte said. “As far as I know, everyone is okay.”
Because he hurt his calf against Wolves in early March, Trippier only played three times for Newcastle United near the end of the season, and he came off the bench for two of them. His only goal for his country was a famous one in the 2018 World Cup semifinal against Croatia.
