In the past few weeks, Alan Shearer has said bad things about Marcus Rashford, a defender for Manchester United.

Alan Shearer, a former striker for Newcastle United, said that his recent comments about Marcus Rashford, an attacker for Manchester United, were fair. This came after Rashford scored his first goal of the season in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Southampton.

Rashford thanked United boss Erik ten Hag for having faith in him recently by curling in the second goal at St. Mary’s. It was his first goal in the Premier League since March.

Nashford hasn’t scored in a while, and Ten Hag has been strong in his defense, especially after Shearer harshly criticized the youth graduate after United’s 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium last month.

Ten Hag called Shearer’s judgment “stupid” because he thought the England player was offside during a United charge.

Even though Rashford scored again on Saturday, Shearer won’t change his mind about what he said recently, saying that his criticism after Brighton was fair.

What Shearer said on BBC Match of the Day on Saturday night: “I don’t think it [the criticism] has been unfair.” “He doesn’t get picked on when he plays like he did today; it was great.”

“So hopefully, as you’ve mentioned, the confidence we all know what that’s like, that he’s got that goal we’ll see more of that now.”

When host Gary Lineker asked Shearer if Rashford gets more unfair abuse than his United teammates, Shearer said, “No, it’s because of the standards he has set.” We saw him score more than 30 goals last season.

“You want to see that more often because we know he can do it.” They didn’t have him in the England team for a reason, but when he plays like that, no one criticizes him. Much better today.

“Hopefully you can see that on a more regular basis, because he can do it.”
