English football pundit Alan Shearer explains his reason why he predicts Manchester City will win the premier League title over Arsenal and Liverpool
Alan Shearer brought up one reason why Manchester City is ahead in the race for the Premier League title.
As of now, the Citizens are two points ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal at the top of the table. This is because they beat Luton Town on Saturday, while Liverpool and Arsenal both lost on Sunday.
There are only six league games left in the season. One commentator and former Premier League player, who knows what it takes to win the title in a close race, has pointed out one thing that could be very important for Pep Guardiola’s team in their latest attempt to become English champions.
They recently shared a piece by Shearer on the BBC Sport website. In it, he talked about the title race and how City are ahead in it.
Those results on Sunday show what stress can do to you. That’s why I’ve stuck with Manchester City whenever people have asked me who I think will win the Premier League this past few weeks. I’m not going to change my mind right now.
The top three teams have all been through this before, but City has been through it the most, so they know what to expect and how to handle it when it does happen.
Man City knows how to win a title race.
The Blues have won five Premier League titles in the last six years, with two of those wins coming on the last day of the season.
In fact, Guardiola’s team has a history of having a good start to the season and winning games in the last few games of the season.
In light of this, Shearer’s belief that the City players’ track record of performing well when the game is close could prove useful this time around is easy to understand.
The Citizens’ last few games of the season are against Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United. They will need to win all of them to become the first team in history to win four Premier League titles in a row.
