English football pundit Alan Shearer reveals the name of the two top players Newcastle United F.C must not sell this summer transfer window
With an exciting 4–2 win away to Brentford, Newcastle United moved up to seventh place.
A 4–2 win over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium was a great way for Newcastle United to end the season.
Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Alexander Isak, and Bruno Guimaraes scored goals to give the Magpies their most goals in a single league season since 1961. Eddie Howe’s team ended in seventh place, above Manchester United for the first time since 1977.
After the win, Newcastle’s dreams of making it to the Europa Conference League final are still up in the air. They will be keeping a close eye on the all-Manchester FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium. If the Citizens win, the Magpies will be able to play in Europe next season. If the Red Devils win, however, Newcastle will not be able to play on the continent.
Newcastle’s season was summed up in many ways by their fun win at Brentford. Alan Shearer and Ian Wright, who was his co-pundit, praised one player in particular.
“Isak has scored 21 goals in 27 starts.” How about this for a cross? “That is amazing,” Shearer said.
When the Magpies played well in London, Isak scored a goal and set up another. He was the key to their success. He also said, “Puts it on a plate for Murphy.”
They then talked about Isak’s future at Newcastle and the rumors that he might be moving to Arsenal, who came in second place in the Premier League. In the past, Isak’s skill and presence on the field have been compared to that of Arsenal great Thierry Henry, and many have said that he is the last piece they need to win the title.
“I guess the big question is”—and this is what the rumor says—”will they both be at Newcastle next season?” I really hope so. Both of them are very good players who have had great seasons.
