English football pundit Alan Shearer slams Roy Keane over Manchester City player Erling Haaland substitution incident with a 54 word message

The 5-1 win over Wolves by Manchester City on Saturday afternoon was a great game for Erling Haaland.

Alan Shearer said he didn’t mind how Erling Haaland reacted when he was taken off during Saturday’s 5-1 win over Wolves, saying he would have done the same thing.

Haaland looked angry after being taken off in the 82nd minute of the game. He seemed to protest to Pep Guardiola for a moment before going to the bench, where his anger was once again clear.

The Norwegian had scored four goals before he was taken off, which is a feat that most players could only dream of achieving in a single game. This made people wonder why the 23-year-old looked so tense after such a great performance.

And Shearer told The Rest Is Football Podcast, “I loved it,” even though he knew why Haaland responded that way. Why shouldn’t he be mad? I would be furious, totally angry. There are ten or fifteen minutes left, and you’re up four goals. I would be the exact same way. People have said bad things about him, but he now has four and is back in the game. I loved it. I don’t see any problem with that at all. “I understand how he feels.”

Shearer said, “I think so, yeah.” when asked if this was different from Mohamed Salah’s recent altercation with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at West Ham. There’s a little change. Salah isn’t on the field and hasn’t been playing well, but other people would say he has scored a lot of goals. There’s a little change.

When it came to Haaland, Shearer may not have had a problem with him, but Roy Keane, who used to play center for Manchester United, did. Keane said more bad things about Haaland after calling City’s No. 9 a “League Two player”: “We saw Erling Haaland being taken off yesterday, not too happy, behaving like a spoilt brat.” It’s almost forgotten, though, since Man City won and he scored goals.
