The Brendan Rodgers era at Celtic is officially over — and the hunt for his successor has begun. 👀🍀
While the board sorts through names, Martin O’Neill made a winning return to Celtic Park, leading the Hoops to a 4–0 thumping of Falkirk on Wednesday night. The result keeps Celtic just six points behind Hearts, who slipped up against St Mirren.
But now all eyes are on who comes next. And according to Paul Merson, there’s only one man for the job — Ange Postecoglou.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson admitted he was “shocked” by Rodgers’ exit but said Ange is the only one who truly gets what managing Celtic is all about.
“It’s disrespectful when people say anyone can manage Celtic,” Merson said. “Every game is like a cup final for the opposition — that pressure is massive.”
He even used Rangers as an example of how tough the job can be, pointing out how often they’ve switched managers trying to catch Celtic.
“Ange knows what it takes. If they want the title back, he’s the guy.” 🔥
