English sports presenter Richard Keys reveals the name of the Celtic F.C former player to replace Steve Clarke as coach of scotland after Euro 2024 elimination
Scotland’s time in the Euros is over, so Celtic fans can now focus on things in their own country and how Brendan Rodgers plans to make the team stronger for next season.
Even though no new players have joined the team in a few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about transfers. However, Celtic fans seem relaxed as the summer heats up.
But it looks like the talk about Celtic is now spreading to the Scotland national team, since Steve Clarke’s team’s performance in the event is being called into question.
Scotland didn’t do well at the Euros for the second year in a row, getting only one point out of nine possible. And it looks like the news now is all about whether Clarke can lead the team forward.
And Richard Keys thinks that his time is up. He has suggested a Celtic legend as someone who can get more out of the present Scotland team.
The next boss of Scotland could be Paul Lambert.
Paul Lambert has had a pretty good record as a manager, and Keys thinks that the legendary Celtic player could now do a good job for Scotland.
Richard AJ Keys said, “I can’t believe Clarke keeps his job now.” He’s done great for Scotland in the round, but it’s time for a change.
“Who?” But not Souness. Since Sky fired him and tried to sell the lie that he was retired, he’s been busier than ever. I love Graeme, but I don’t think he should be in charge again.
“Coisty’s name has also been brought up.” Yes. I get it. He would be a nice change of pace, but I think he’s too used to working in the media right now. He’s also too good to be able to change his mind.
“Paul Lambert is my pick.”
“He has a lot of experience and is very well respected in European football.” He’s the right age and really loves his country. “Why not?”
Lambert has been in charge of teams like Aston Villa, Norwich City, Wolves, and Ipswich. He took Norwich City to the Premier League by promoting them twice from League One. That season, he was named the Championship Manager of the Year.
Lambert was so good at playing in England’s lower leagues that he led Wycombe Wanderers to the FA Cup semi-finals in 2006.
Along with Aston Villa, Lambert led them to the League Cup semi-finals in 2014. At that point, he was seen as a possible candidate for Premier League manager of the year.
On the other hand, the former Celtic star hasn’t played since Ipswich fired him in 2021, when they were in eighth place in League One.
After Clarke, could Lambert be the person to lead Scotland forward? I have to say that it seems like a pretty long shot.
For now, though, it looks like things might be changing. Fans are still upset about not making it to the Euros.
