Since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Haaland has emerged as the premier player for Manchester City; however, his existing contract is scheduled to expire in July 2027. In a concerted effort to secure his commitment, City and Haaland have reached an accord regarding a new contract.
Haaland’s recent contract extension will secure his presence at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2034. The prominent Norwegian will reach the age of 34 by the conclusion of his contract. City executives have dedicated the past six months to negotiating the substantial agreement for Haaland.
The Athletic reports that, while the exact figures remain ambiguous at present, it is regarded as one of the most financially advantageous contracts in the annals of sports history. Haaland is reportedly very content residing in Manchester, notwithstanding the interest from Real Madrid.
The striker has also recently become a father, welcoming his first child into the world with long-term companion Isabel Haugseng-Johansen. Since joining City, Haaland has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and the Club World Cup. He has also achieved an impressive tally of 111 goals in 126 matches.
