The Everton manager was asked if he was interested in the Newcastle full-back.

When asked if Everton was in talks to sign Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier, boss Sean Dyche played coy.

The England full-back is said to have said that he would look at other options if United didn’t pick him as their first choice this season. Newcastle’s first game of the season was against Southampton, and Tino Livramento started. However, Eddie Howe said Trippier was never going to play because he had just returned from a long summer break after England’s EURO24 duty.

People think That Howe wants to keep Trippier on Tyneside, but Trippier knows that he needs to play regularly for the first team at this point in his career. He will be 34 next month. He was linked with moves to West Ham and the Saudi Arabian league. In January, Bayern Munich made an offer, but United turned it down.

Everton is now interested. Dyche, the manager of the Toffees, worked with Trippier when he was young at Burnley. The Merseyside club is having trouble at right back because Seamus Coleman is hurt, but Dyche wouldn’t say anything specific about Trippier when asked about it in his pre-match press conference today.

“Himself is just one of many names that have come up here,” he told the press. “Like magic, when we don’t have a right back!” Jarrad Branthwaite is still a ways off. There is a bit more of a gap between Seamus and James Garner, who just got back from training with the group. We need to take a look at Tarky’s (James Tarkowski) possible situation.

To get ready for Sunday’s game at Bournemouth, United manager Howe will hold a press conference tomorrow morning. We’ll be there live to bring you updates as the Newcastle manager talks about moves and injuries.
