Brendan Rodgers was to blame for the first half showing because he made eight changes to his team to get them ready for the next game in the Champions League.

Rodgers’ team came back from being down 2-1 to win 5-2 thanks to a 20-minute blitz that showed how strong and classy they were.

Following the game, Brendan Rodgers showed some class by going to the Falkirk locker room at the end. Now, Coll Donaldson, the captain of the Bairns, has shared what Rodgers said to his team.

The manager of Celtic gives Falkirk “the biggest mark of respect.”
The captain of Falkirk says that his team was hurt when the game was over, but he did share “the biggest mark of respect” that the Celtic manager gave him and his team in the Parkhead locker rooms.

“But I was so proud of how the boys stuck to our task,” Donaldson told The Big Football Podcast.

“Brendan Rodgers came into our locker room while the manager was still talking and told us how impressed he was. That was the biggest sign of respect I think.”

The way we played during the game and how he watched us prepare for it made him happy. He said that watching us play is like watching a performance every week.

“I think these compliments are nice, but as professional footballers, we were still upset with how the last 20 minutes went.”

The League Cup should go to Falkirk and Celtic.
It goes without saying that Falkirk deserves all the praise they get after their brave showing at Celtic Park. It’s great that they pushed Rodgers’ team and made them make mistakes, which let them take the lead twice.

But Celtic should also be praised for how professional they stayed and how hard they worked, as they ended up winning in the end.

All of Rodgers’ tactics changes worked out perfectly, as each new player made an immediate difference.

Adam Idah’s speed and Nicolas Kuhn’s cruelty worked well together to help Celtic get back in the game. Kuhn set up two goals and scored two more.

It was one of the best games of the season, and the fact that it was shown live on TV was a great promotion for Scottish football. Both teams should be very proud of that.
