To say goodbye to Celtic fans for the last time as a player at Celtic Park, Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart was substituted in the 88th minute to a standing ovation from the crowd at Celtic Park. This was Hart’s final game as a player at Celtic Park.
Through the change of reserve goalkeeper Scott Bain for Hart, it was evident that Brendan Rodgers had pre-planned the substitution in order to provide Hart with the opportunity to earn a standing ovation from the public.
The Scottish Cup final will take place at Hampden on the following Saturday, and Hart will go on to play one more game before retiring. The match will be against Rangers.
Nevertheless, today will be remembered as one of the most memorable days of Hart’s career. It was an emotional day, and the Green Brigade even paid respect to the Englishman. It was a day that people all around the world will remember for a very long time.
The club has benefited tremendously from Hart’s service, as seen by the fact that he has won three league crowns, two league cups, and one Scottish Cup. Next weekend, he will have the opportunity to add another Scottish Cup to his collection.
